Fall – this time of year comes with mixed emotions for many of us. Parents are usually delighted for school to begin (at least I’m led to believe), students have mixed feelings about getting back to school and many runners have fall races to look forward to.
In spite of having some sadness that summer is over, I love this time of year. The crisp air and clear sunny days make for perfect running weather. Being a bit of a foodie I love the food choices. Every Saturday I go to the Wychwood Farmers Market and load up on veggies – my fridge is packed with them. The freshness and vibrancy of the food is as wonderful as the colours and jubilant atmosphere of the vendors.
I schedule a number of workshops for the fall as that is when many runners are in need of a good tune-up. Whether you are in recovery mode, in full training or keeping up your weekly mileage, some targeted work is always beneficial.
While I love to teach my regular yoga classes I am particularly fond of teaching workshops – because its an opportunity to delve deeper and leave students with a more profound effect. Often students come to a workshop looking for a quick fix to a problem. Unfortunately quick fixes are rare and I certainly don’t promote them. What you will learn is a variety of ways to work on your issue or exercises and movement patterns to incorporate into your fitness routine, be it yoga, the gym or walking around. Upcoming workshop topics listed below – details here.
