A series of 90 minute classes where participants gain knowledge about functional anatomy as it relates to the impact of running. The foundations of yoga are used to bring awareness to the structural and muscular imbalances caused by repetitive strain on the specific muscles and joints used in running. Each week has a specific body emphasis and leads to the development of an individualized post-run routine.
A stretch intensive is for those times when the miles are building and the body needs a tune-up. Or for helping you hit the road again after a lay-off! This 2 hour class will target all the 'hot spots' related to running and leaves participants feeling lighter and a little more balanced - like they've had a body tune-up. Ideal for just before or after a race. Appropriate for all levels.
For those that are curious about yoga and want to give it a try. This 2 hour workshop lays the foundations of yoga for runners, covers safety rules for runners practicing yoga, details how yoga affects various parts of the runners body and reviews the benefits of yoga for runners. Participants are led through an introductory yoga practice where the benefits of yoga are experienced first hand.
For runners and endurance athletes that have some yoga experience (any of the above workshops qualify). This 90 minute class is ongoing on a weekly basis. Each week incorporates work in areas key for runners: hips, hamstrings, core strength, breathing. Additionally, each class surveys participants needs (specific injuries or overworked muscle groups) for that week and addresses the issues in the class.
Consultation, personal program design and one-on-one instruction.
